You believe cars with electric motors are an achievement of the past few years, perhaps even one of the future?
Without question, the technology of electric drives developed with breathtaking pace, but it’s not new – not by far. As a matter of fact the electric motor was also quite successful – at the beginning of the 20. century, most cars had an electric engine. However, these models were later replaced by the more powerful petrol vehicles.
The first hybrid car in the world was developed in 1901 by Ferdinand Porsche. The Lohner-Porsche Mixte car was therefore a true international sensation and continues to influence the hybrid drive concepts.
