Christmas time in Mattsee

During Advent, there’s always a hustle and bustle in Mattsee. A much anticipated highlight of the festive season also marks its beginning- the St. Nicholas Day. On December 5th  St. Nicholas makes children’s eyes shine all over town.

On December 6th, the Christmas Market will open its doors for the first time. You can visit it every Sunday in December and put yourself in the Christmas spirit or get some inspiration and gift ideas. By no means should you miss the pre-Christmas coffee afternoons in the Schlosscafé. The annual Perchtenlauf marks another highlight. More than 200 Krampus and Perchten will display their spectacular costumes.
And last but not least the nature all around inspires a tranquil and idyllic Advent break. By the way, you also shouldn’t miss out on the unique exhibition of nativity scenes shown until the 6th of January in the Erlebniswelt Fahr(T)raum. We wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas.
